SE63, how can I download/upload texts (Other long texts) to text/xml file?.

Using either SE63 or some other tool, how can I download/upload texts (Other long texts) to text/xml file?.

We have a situation whereby I need extract certain Smartfoms from one SAP system to another, where neither SAP system has a link, of any type. We have exported both the Sapscripts (with foreign texts) and also the Smartforms, but the foreign texts for the Smartforms are missing. I am now trying to find a way to get these texts. I'm not sure whether I can use the text module facility to do this, or not.

Am I right in thinking that there should always be a text module of the same name as an existing Smartform?.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Gary

Hi ,

1) Include all the texts in the Transport request no by using RSTXTRAN

2) Run program RSTXR3TR and give the request no and select export and provide the file name where u need to store the texts and run the program now u can upload that file

3) If u want to upload the texts in the other system Run program RSTXR3TR and give the request no and select import and provide your file name where u had stored the texts

Thanks,

Nethaji.

Excellent Nathaji, Many thanks for that. Now that I think of it I have used a similar program to RSTXTRAN in CRM, although it was a little more sophisticated I believe.

My only problem now is that I don't have access to the DEV system to produce a transport. I only have access to the QA system. I can deal with that though by getting the owners of the original SAP system to export the texts.

SE63 is mainly used for Language translations. I guess, downloading text using SE63 will not help you to import your text.

Try to download you smartform in XML format and upload it. For SAPscript use RS* program's for download and upload.

No need to use any RS* program as you can download/upload the Smartform in .XML format from within the Smartform transaction. We looked at the XML file and it had foreign texts in it and just assumed that it had exported all related foreign texts, but after loading the xml file back in to another SAP system, again using the same method, we found that his foreign text was just the label descriptions for Smartforms and not the text content. Hence my question.

Looked at So10 and few other possible R* programs but can determine any way of extracting these texts.
