Hi,
I'm fairly new to the Business Objects Enterprise. I only use it for report auto distribution to SMTP addresses. I noticed that the hard drive space is getting filled up and I suspect this is due to the BOE leaving a copy of a sent report in one of its folders. Am I correct? I understand that the BOE is storing the .rpt files that are needed for daily report generation.
If I'm correct, am I able to delete these completed jobs within CMC?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Jack,
which version of BOE do you use?

Ok, I found the output folders with the pdf's inside of them. They're located in the .../BusinessObjects Enterprise11/FileStore/Output/a_000 to a_110
Now, my question is should I delete everything in the Output folder or should I just delete the pdf's and leave the folder structure alone?
Is there a setting in the console that allows not to leave a copy of the report on the server?
Jack,
Can you see the instances in the report history? i.e. in CMC click on object and click on history tab.
If so, what you might want to do is set a global limit of x instances. So if you set the limit to 1, only 1 instance of each report object will be kept. You can also set a limit on a per folder basis e.g. diifferent limits for different folders.
I wouldn't delete files out of your file store unless your output file store and the CMS have become out of synch and you are certain the files are no longer referenced by the CMS.
Where could I set the global limit? I have pdfs in these folders going back to 2005!!! No one ever cleaned it out, we're talking almost 15 gigs, there's no reason at all I should keep these there. I wish there was an option that deletes all these files at once thru the CMC.
I'll look thru the history but I'm sure it doesn't go all that far out.
