ODP SLT data extraction

Hi All.

i am extracting MARA table via ODP SLT

i have created connection in SLT in LTRC ODP connection

i have eliminated PSA and directly loaded MARA table data to DSO

let us say if we get special character in future, we can i edit data in this scenario.

normally if we using SLT we edit data in PSA, but here i have eliminated PSA,

where i edit data in this ODP scenario...can we edit data in ODQmon and repeat DTp?

or do we have any option.

Hey,

These questions of yours are answered in the ODP FAQ << . Check it out, is one of the best FAQs in the world hehehe (for me <3) because its short enough to not be massive and in the same time doesn't lack essential information.

Some points:

-> It is planned to be released in the future, in the context of BW4HANA, a mechanism to allow maintenance in the data inside ADSOs. Check the RoadMap for it. Meanwhile, this is one scenario that you might need the PSA Table. Remember that with ODP, you can use either InfoPackage (that clearly needs a PSA) or DTP (which may or may not use a PSA, up to you and your business needs).

In the last page of the FAQ I mentioned, you will see the answer for 1 of your inquiries :

23. Can I change the data in the ODQ directly?

No, this might be one use case where you would still use a PSA table in SAP BW in relation to ODP sources. As a future enhancement in SAP BW/4HANA, we plan to all ow maintenance on Advanced DataStore Objects. Please see current SAP BW/4HANA roadmap (link is there in the PDF);

--> I don't quite understand your question. Where's the special char? In ERP table or PSA?

--> I'm not sure if you'd like to know how you can repeat the DTP after you edit the data (in ERP table?)? Before your clarification, I would say you cannot edit data in ODQMON. ODQMON is not used to do such change.
If you want to repeat the DTP, you need firstly delete the DTP request, then re-execute the DTP. That's the so-called 'repeat'.

if we use ODP ....if i want to eliminate PSA and load data to ADSO directly....

now let us say ADSO is SDSO with SID generation upon activation .....

if there are any special characteristics...in normal flow if there any failures we can edit the data in PSA and reload them to target...now by using ODP i am eliminating PSA ....what if data load failed with special characteristic now ...where can i correct it....as i dnt have PSA in this scenario ...how can i correct data and reload data to target.
