hi everyone,

can anyone plz tell me the answer for following

. In which areas of the system can you specify whether and how MRP is to be carried out at a plant?

A. Material Master.

B. In the customizing IMG activity for Material Requirements Planning

C. In the customizing IMG activity to activate MRP and setting up the planning file.

D. MRP1 view of the Material Master.

E. Only a) and b) above.

Dear Shreek,

For running MRP,

1.You need a proper material master and proper BOM and rtouting for the procurment type E materials.

2.Proper MRP type and MRP datas in MRP1,2,3,4 views along with the settings in OPPQ - carryout overall parameters for MRP at

plant level,activating MRP for plant and planning File Entries.

3.Without any planning file entry you cannot run MRP.

4.MRP steps includes

1. Checking Planning File entries

2. Net Requirement Calculation

3. Calculating Procurement Quantity

4. Scheduling

5. Determining the Procurement proposals

6. BOM explosion & determining Depenedent Requirements

7. Creation of Exception Messages

Can we run MRP without setting up planning file ?

Below are the prrequisites to run the MRP for the particular plant form MM perspective.

1) Plant must be activated for MRP in customizing under MM>CBP>Planning>Activate

2) Plant parameters must be maintained in Customizing under MM>CBP>Plant parameters

3) Material master have to maintained for atleast MRP1 & 2 views

4) MRP type ND-Noplanning must not be used in the material master MRP view

Hi,

The MRP type in MRP1 view of the Material Master is play vital role for Material Requirements Planning .

But the settings are made in each material master in the MRP 1,2,3,4, views which decide MRP.

For example:

MRP Type defines how a material is planned

MRP Types are defined at Plant level

Minimum stock levels can be managed using Safety Stock

Template recommends limiting MRP Types to PD, V1/VB and ND.However PD is highly recommended on the principle that planning is based on actual requirements and not just a fixed reorder point.

The factors which influence the MRP is

1) In Material master u need to maintain the MRP views and there in MRP1 view.MRPtype,and Lot Size need to bemaintained

MRP2 view:Procurement type,Scedule margin keyinhouseprod time,gr Processsing time,Planned delivery,

MRP3 View:Strategy gtoup,Availabilty check...

2)in OPPQ for u r plant MRP settings are to be done

3)activate the palnning file entry
