Hi,

I have some problems with de logs in the SPM capacity. I can´t see the logs generated when a firefighter id has been used. To solve this problem i did make changes to rec/client = xxx, to activate de logs for transaction stad.

what else can i do to see the SPM logs correctly?

Thanks,

Ricardo,

Hi Ricardo,

By SPM logs, did you meant that you are unable to see any entries in the Firefighter log report.

If yes, then please follow the SAP note: 1039144

Thanks for response,

i was thinking that the stad transaction serves as an input to firefighter´s logs, correct me if it is not true. The problem is that a i can´t see the firefighter logs, for example, as a firefighter controller. The background job /VIRSA/ZVFATBAK is already configured. As a extra info, i have a IDES R/3 system, so the information related with sap note - background job and index of table, i don´t know if it applies to my system.

do you know why i can´t see the logs in SPM?

thanks,

Ricardo.

Hi Ricardo,

Yes, you are right the Firefighter picks the log from STAD.

If there is no logs coming, can you let me know if you are able to see any message in the Firefighter logs like Background job not yet schedule d etc.

Hello Ricardo,

Unavailability of logs in firefighter can be due to number of reasons. Most common of them is incorrect scheduling of background job /VIRSA/ZVFATBAK. Please check if you have this job running successfully without errors on hourly basis. The job class should be 'A'. The values for the job in SE38 when you schedule it should be as follows:

Start Time - 00:00:00

Date - LEAVE BLANK

Read Time - 01:02:00

Firefight Id - LEAVE BLANK

This will make the job to read the data for the previous hour for every firefighter id. You can refer to SAP Note 1142312 for more information about these parameter values and how they work.

You are also correct that STAD is the entry point for data collection for firefighter logs generation so you need to make sure that the data is indeed getting captured in STAD. Make sure that the program RSCOLL00 is running correctly to collect the data for STAD. You can refer to SAP Note 966309 for this.

Please check that user who is scheduling /VIRSA/ZVFATBAK fullfill

following authorization checks:

a. AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'ZVFAT_0001' ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '81'.

b. * check for authority to display user names

AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'S_TOOLS_EX' ID 'AUTH' FIELD 'S_TOOLS_EX_A'.

The second authorization(b) is also required for scheduling RSCOLL00.

After that make sure that you are on latest Support Package for SPM. You have to apply all the support packages available for VIRSANH component. If you have SAP_HR component in your system then you must install VIRSAHR component with all support packages as well.

Shweta,

The FF don´t throw any message related with backgound job. The reports that i can see are the Firefighter ID Log Summary and Reason/Activity report, the other reports are empty.

Thanks,

Ricardo.

Thakur,

The background jobs is configured with the correct parameters, as well as you say:

Start Time - 00:00:00

Date - LEAVE BLANK

Read Time - 01:02:00

Firefight Id - LEAVE BLANK

Class: A

Now, the problem seems to be the RSCOLL00 program, because it doesn´t run. I´m trying to run through SA38 but i obtain an error:

Database system not supported

Message no. S1101

Diagnosis

This database system is not supported yet. The function that you have chosen cannot be executed.

I have an SQL Server 2000 Database.

Do you know about it?

Hi Ricardo,

Are you obtaining any output along with this error.

As I have exexuted the same program at my system and I have received the output along with the error

which you have given in the reply.

So if outpur is coming, I don't think there is any issue with the job RSCOLL00.

Then, Do you say that there is no error if this message like above is throw? Even though i run stad transaction, afterwards of the execution of the program, i don´t see anything in the firefighter logs.

Hello Ricardo,

For this error request you to please create a message with SAP Support under the component BC-CCM-MON-TUN where an expert will be able to help you further... If even after correcting this the issue with firefighter does not resolve then please create message under component GRC-SAC-SFF with SAP GRC support and they should be able to help further. It seems that you have the basic settings for fighter but still it is not working. SAP GRC support would be able to log onto your system and check this.

Hello Ricardo,

I am sorry but i could not understand your concern completely here. Are you saying that you are trying to get the firefighter log for transaction STAD?
