CTM Safety Stock

Hello Experts,

We are modeling CTM and we have product location master data with target days' supply as 20 days. Now, In 'Supplies' tab of CTM Profile we checked for safety stock and also checked for target days' supply. We ran CTM but in planning book its not considering safety stock demand. Could any one can explain what are settings I need to make in order to CTM ran considering safety stock demand

Hi MM SRM,

Please check the following.

1) In CTM profile, under supplies tab, check whether the indicator "Buildup safety stock"

is checked

2) In Model and version management transaction (mvm), check under PPDS tab,

whether the "Take safety stock into account" indicator is maintained

3) CTM planning ignores the set indicator if you have specified SS method SB or SM and selected in the current planning version under PP/DS: Consider Safety Stock, the option Consider Safety Stock in liveCache. The system then builds up safety supply demands in the liveCache. CTM planning handles these safety supply demands in the demand prioritization as it does all other demands.

4) Check safety stock category is incorporated in demand prioritisation

Hi Senthil,

We maintained the following settings as per your instructions

1) In CTM profile, under supplies tab, check whether the indicator "Buildup safety stock"

is checked

We checked for Build Up Safety Stock -> Consider Safety Days' Supply and also Consider Safety Days' Supply

2) In Model and version management transaction (mvm), check under PPDS tab,

whether the "Take safety stock into account" indicator is maintained

Initially we did not maintianed but as per instructions we selected indicator 3 'consider safety stock requirement in Live Cache

We maintained safety stock method SZ (Safety Days' Supply from Location Product Master) in Lotsize of Location Product Master

4) Check safety stock category is incorporated in demand prioritisation

We selected criteria as MBDAT in Demands tab of CTM Profile. In simulation we seen both FC & DR (Forecast & Dependent Demand) not SR (Building up Safety Stock)

With the above setting we ran CTM and its not considering the safety stock demand and there is no Days' supply and for the same Master Data we ran Location Heuristic and Location Heuristic considering safety stock demand and population Days' Supply.

Could any please give some more inputs in order CTM to consider safety stock demand
