Controlling sequencing of outputs through Activity Profile in Shipments

The activity profile outlines possible activities to be executed in the

Shipment document when the shipment has reached a certain status.

Separate activity profile can be defined for each status, like currently in the clients system it is printing certain delivery/shipment outputs at time when shipment status is planning, check in, Loading start and so on. This activity profile can be accessed through IMG > LE > Transportation > Shipments > Define and Assign Activity Profiles.

A selection variant can be defined, which may in turn be assigned to a

Shipment type. In this way, the shipment activities that are to be

carried out are defined for the shipment type as soon as the

Corresponding status is set.

The pre-requisite for output processing that the output will be executed, if and only if they have been already determined in the respective applications. If an output has been determined in a particular application, then by setting the corresponding status in the shipment, the determined output will be executed. So in this case the send time of all outputs printed is "3"(Send by application's own transaction).

In current process in the clients system assuming that shipment has many delivers having dangerous goods, when the shipment has planning status checked in and saved, A dangerous goods output is triggered in the shipment document but not printed, subsequently picking is done and confirmed, After pick confirmation a consignment note output is triggered in the delivery document but not printed, subsequently checking status is checked and saved and subsequent loading start is checked and saved. At this stage both dangerous goods output and consignment note output are printed. Currently if shipment has 10 deliveries having dangerous goods, after loading start button is checked and saved, First 10 dangerous goods output for 10 deliveries are printed and then consignment note output for these deliveries are printed.

The client requirement is for first delivery consignment note output should be printed first after which the dangerous goods output should be printed related to this first delivery and for the second delivery consignment note output should be printed first after which the dangerous goods output should be printed related to this second delivery and so on.Is it possible to change the sequencing of these outputs and how?

I would appreciate your inputs in this regard.

Hello,

All I can tell is that in my project we configured Activity profile for Shipment status for two purposes.

One is : When ever the Doc floor team checks the "MRP" and "Check-In" status through VL02N . System triggers an out put

second is: When ever Doc floor team checks "Shipment completion" status. System do the PGI to all deliveries asssigned to that shiment.

With that what i can say is in the shipment (VL02N) you can assign activities related to outputs or calling applications.

Please look at the config of that Activity profile area and do some work in sandbox may be it helps you.

This was done by my previous SD Team. I did not explore much on that... good luck.

Hi,

Thanks TK Reddy for the information but I am still looking at inputs at to how to control the sequencing of these outputs at Loading start status through Activity profile in transportation have two outputs Dangerous goods note which is shipment output which is triggered by output determination condition technique when shipment reaches planning status, after delivery creation, subsequently picking is done and pick confirmation is done after which another output Consignment note is triggered in the delivery document .

Subsequently shipment reaching CHECK IN status and when shipment reaches LOADING START status both these outputs -Dangerous goods note and Consignment note are executed as per existing spool records in the system it appears both-Dangerous goods note and Consignment note are spooled at the same time in the same printer but Dangerous goods note output pertaining to shipment is printed first for all deliveries in shipment and Consignment note output is printed subsequently for each delivery.

*Now the clients requirement is to sequence these outputs so that for each delivery in shipment, Consignment note output should be printed first and subsequently Dangerous goods note output should be printed later for that delivery, subsequently for second delivery Consignment note output should be printed first and subsequently Dangerous goods note output should be printed later for that delivery and so on when shipment reaches Loading start status.*

Kindly let me know if this requirement could be met by IMG configuration setting, Enhancement or any increased functionality in an industry solution, where other company has already implemented this functionality.

I would also like know if any company has succesfully implemented this sequencing of outputs through Activity Profile in Shipments or if there is any increased functionality in a industry solution or enhancement within the switch framework?
