Flexible planning SOP

Hello' I'm exploring the features of Flexible planning in SOP.

1) I created an info-structure and a Hierarchy as follow: Sales Agent > Customer> Model(familly)-->Item(Fert)

- I would like to know what is the purpose of a product group within a planning hierarchy in my example?

What is the benefit to use them?

- Is it recommended to use product group in flexible planning?

- If there's a new item or model, I have to create manually the product group. In a planning hierarchy, I can use the master data generator so it could be less maintenance...

Is there an example of how was implemented /developped the flexible planning with the polanning table?

There's a lot of generic information but I would like to see real examples, how it works...

Thanks!

Hi Luc

1) Basicaly in your's Scenarion , eithr it is material of Product group , both will fleth based on the propotinal factor from the hierarchy, or qty you have specified in the Flexible planning table , based on that agg/disag will happen,

2) Basic benifit is that the propotional factor you have specified in the Product group , will fleth int eh material level, instead of maintain each material level.

3) Do not specify consistent planning for an information structure with the characteristic "product group".

a) Consistent Planning

In consistent planning, planning levels are interdependent. The user enters data for a characteristic value or characteristic values combination. This data is automatically aggregated and disaggregated up and down the planning hierarchy every time the user regenerates the planning table, for example, by pressing ENTER. The sum of the key figure values at the detailed level (the lowest level in the planning hierarchy) gives the key figure value at the total level (the total level is defined by the characteristic values entered by the user when calling the planning table). Only data at the detailed level is saved on

the database.

b) Level-By-Level Planning

In level-by-level planning, planning data is saved for every characteristic, that is, at every level, of the information structur

The user plans each level separately. Thus, planning levels are independent of each other (although they can still be aggregated and disaggregated if user-defined macros have been created for this purpose).

STEPS FOR FLEXIBLE PLANNING

1) MC 21 cREATE INFO STR.

2) MC7F ASSIGN THE PLANNING METHOD

3) MC61 CREATE HIERARCHY

4) MC8A CREATE PLANNING TYPE

5) MC 93 CREATE PLANNING
