correct approach for fiori app with barcodescanner

hi,

i am creating a fiori app through the webide of hana cloud platform where i would like to use the camera functionality of the device to scan barcode of material/.... i searched a lot for tutorials and information about this but i still have some questions about the approach and everythings that comes in the process.

1. will it be only possible to access the camera functionality if the app is used through the fiori client or the companion app or is it also possible if the app is started from the launchpad in the browser?

2. am i making it myself harder by working through the webide of HCP (for which i need the Hybrid application toolkit) then working through SAPUI5/eclipse or is this incorrect?

greetings.

I have to first preface this by saying I have not thoroughly examined these tool sets, but here is my understanding...

    1) The Hybrid application toolkit does have the Kapsel Barcode plugin to decode barcodes from an image

    2) With HCP, you are limited to Cordova programming. While Cordova does not have everything, you should be able to reach the device camera with it. See http://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/3.5.0/guide/support/index.html#Platform%20Support
