How to specify if Family non-dependents ?

we need to capture all the family member details for the employee, and also need to specify if the particular family member is a dependent on the employee or if the member is a non-dependent.

How to handle this scenario? or do we need to create a custom infotype?

You could also look at fields of IT0021 that are not currently used in your Country (through se16n and MP002100), or asking an ABAP programmer to add a Custom Field to IT0021.

I have asked ABAPer to create a field with check box for family non-dependents, which will map all the allowance fields as non-eligible.

will this be enough or are there any further dependencies for this?

Through the IMG, have you tried to create a new sub-type to IT0021 ?

Personnel Management > Personnel Administration > Family > Define possible family members

Suggestion: Use the 90 to 99, Z0 to Z9, or the Z001 to Z999 range to create the new sub-types.
