Screen not getting refreshed after reseting password

When resetting a password in SU01 the screen does not refresh at the end

of the transaction. Once the new value (password) has been entered

twice, if you click the green tick the password seems to gets reset but

the transaction does not refresh and you have to exit the transaction by

the x in top right hand corner.

Hi

My question is as simple as easy to understand.

I want to change or reset the password of the user, so I went to su01and clicked on reset password tab..

After reseting the newpassword, it is not taking new password and same pop up box does not getting disappread.

so unable to change the password from there.

I tried by going in change mode of user, reset the password in logon tab and was successful, it means password is getting updated in database.

So can you suggest what is the problem.

Regards,

Tarun

Tarun ,

Are you getting any message that when you are clicking on password TAB

Are you getting any message like that " You are not authorized .... " ?

Let me know.

Which release are you on and kernel level?

Check in transaction SMOD, CMOD and SPAU whether there are any entries for SU01.

Note that setting an administrator password is not subject to all the same checks as setting your own password. I suspect that something has been mixed up here.

Cheers,

Julius

No spau corrections are there,

I feel its also not an authorization issue, as i am having sap_all and new...

currently we are on release 700.

instead of resetting password directly.. click change mode of the user and go inside, reset the password and save it.

Try like this. this would save your reset password for the userid.

Please read the whole thread before replying. The original poster had already discovered this but was (understandably) not happy with this workaround.
