Hello All,
Currently we are facing a problem the configtool. After adding addtional application servers we are not able to open it.
We are having 5 application servers. with a CI. All are AS JAVA STACK with NW2004 SR 3.
And it is on HP UNIX with Oracle.
I need to edit the JVM parameters since configtool is not opeing we are not able edit it.
Is there any work arround for this. It is a prodution server.
Thanks and Regards.
Hi Raja,

Hello Raja,
The config tool is directly connecting to the database, so when it is not working it means there is problem with the data in the database or the database itself. Please check the system.log in the configtool directory.
Note 1131198 describes similar problem.

Hi,
We are experiencing same kind of problem, even after implementing the above ... same error continues.
when we hit ./configtool.sh no screen popus up ...after about 10 sec we see a popup
"Do uou want to use default DB settings" .. I click yes and nothing happens.
Checked the system.log file, defaulttrace files no errors found.
Please help.
Regards
Abb
Hi Raja,
If you have added new instances, it is possible that some inconsistency is preventing the config tool to start. Anyway, check the configtool.log, the defaultTraces and also the messages in the shell. Maybe there you can find some more information regarding the issue.

Hello Raja,
When you open the configtool, a popup arises ("do you want to use the default DB settings?") Say NO, and then check the connection data. Ensure that you are able to connect with that user and password to your DB. If necessary, correct the data and then try the connection to the DB via Configtool.
Otherwise you can try to use the Offline Config editor at the same path (offlinecfgeditor.bat)

Hi Désirée,
As you said i tried saying NO and tried connecting with user name and password,( Login credentials are correct) even then it is not opening. It says connecting and hangs there.
But i am able to open the offline editor.
And i am having one CI and five Application servers. Currently CI and three application servers are in live production.
Recently i added 2 addtional application server. After that i am not able to opent he configtool at all. So if i edit the parameters using the offline tool it, i need to restart only the Applications servers not the whole system with DB.
Because i cannot have a down time for the pordction system. So i need to do this with out down time.
Pls advice.
Thanks,
Raja.
