Item transfer from one technician to other from Syclo Work Manager, Possible or not ?

Dear Team,

I am working with Work Manager 6.4, SMP 3.0. We have a scenario and want to check the feasibility of this customization is possible or not

In Work Manager application one operation is assigned to Technician1 , Now when the job is completed he wants to transfer the items ( mainly PRT items) to Technician2

so following process is expected be executed :

1. PRT reversal when Technician1 transfers the items ( Movement 262)

2. Issue posted when Technician 2 receives / accepts the requests

3: Location , Item, owner detail automatically updated in backend

My query is , Is this customization possible or feasible from Work Manager application?

Expert advice is needed , Kindly guide

Hi Neha,

SAP Work Manager supports transfer of operations from one technician to other for operation level Assignment Types, however transfer of PRT items are not support Out-of-the-box as we don't currently support PRT add/edit support. As long as you maintain the parts used as part of Work Order Components, you can issue or reverse on those parts(may require some customization based on your requirement).

Hi Syam,

Thank you very much !! So another query .. when I transfer one part it initiates the reverse and assign to another it initiates an issue. So can I directly transfer this part to another technician ? I mean do I need to take help of transfer order or transfer operation to perform this task ? what do you suggest will be a better option

Hi Neha,

By default, SAP Work Manager does not support transferring of parts(Issue/Reverse) while you transfer the WorkOrder or Operation, you need to add this step as part of custom solution and this can be achieved independent of WO/operation transfer. If you want to simply the process you can add this step in the backend while updating the mobile status from the client so that technician don't have to do these additional steps on the mobile client.

Thanks !! This is helpful.

So with work manager this does not support and I have to create a custom step for this functionality

If I want to issue or transfer, I can refer Inventory manager functionality, and create the custom bapi wrappers and logic.

What do you suggest?
