Customer needs to have a filter report to display a couple of information using business object. Those information that we can get from the table of R/3. However there are more than 35000 records will be extracted once per year. Customer wants to have some combo box so that they are able to make selection based on about 35000 records.

Could anyone give suggestion how to fulfill their requirement using BOBJ tools? Which tool that we should use and how?

So far as I can see we can create DSO in BI and create a query based on that DSO. Then create Universe...

Hi dreshof Kalsfwa,

if you want to connect a BO tool directly to R/3 you only can use Crystal Reports (currently).

So you would basically need three Products. Crystal Reports 2008 for Report designing purpose, BusinessObjects Enterprise (or EDGE for midsize companies) XI 3.1 for sharing these Documents in your Company to the Employees and the SAP Integration Kit to conenct BusinessObjects Enterprise/EDGE XI 3.1 to your R/3.

is it possible to create combo boxes in the CR report? Because customers needs to select flexible value, then they get the results based on the selection. The total records is about 35000 row. That means we have to make selection based on those records. Actually we can use combo box in the Xcelsius, but it will cause bad performance due to huge records. So we decide to go through BI query instead of using local file.

Please advice.

Yes , We Can Create.

Although Crystal reports are known to be highely formatted reports, you could do many customization in that.

For your case- Crystal would be best to use, as it can directly hit R/3 Database.

Hi,

the best would be checking the CR User Guide - there you can see whats possible. In your case we call it "Parameters" there you could select a value (f.e. select the quarter of a year).

Here you get the Guide:
