account assignment category

hi all,

can you plz answer following,

The account assignment category need not be used for each item of a purchasing document.

A. True

B. False.

I think option A (true) is the right answer, but i came across some document which says its 'False'. so bit confused. please let me know the right answer.

Answer is "A"

Reason: Using the account assignment catagory causes the postings to the consumption account instead of stock account...But in the normal case, we may need to post the material to stock account...so in that case we don't use the account assignment catagory...

I case of consumable goods, account assignment category is mandatory while incase of stock items, it is optional.

Your answer is option one "TRUE" ...

Account assignment is to be used in PO for only those materials which do not have material code or those which need to be consumed directly....

BUT if all items in PO need to be consumed directly then ... there will be account asignment for all line items ...in such a case answer is FALSE.......

Hi Shreek,

The account assignment category depends on the materials which you are going to purchase. It doesnt depend on the item number. So your answer should be true.
