SAP is not listed in the authentication when you view the logon screen

Dear Experts

Followed all the steps in Installing BO XI 3.1 and integration kit 3.1.

In the CMC, was able to setup the SAP Entitlement system and import the roles from the backend system, from the BW system side Content Admin Workbench shows green when testing RFC.

However, when I goto the CMC logon screen, I only have Authentication options as "Enterprise", "LDAP", "Windows AD" from the drop down where I was also expecting "SAP".

Am I missing something ?

Thanks in advance.

Zack

Hi Stratos

In the Infoview logon screen, I only get option to enter User id and password followed by a logon button and nothing else.

Hi,

there is a web.xml file in the InfoViewApp folder. in case it is Tomcat as a app server you can go to the folder webapps and then InfoViewApp and then there is a web.xml.

there is a property called authentication.visible. you can set that property to true, restart Tomcat, then you should be able to see the list of authentications.

Hi Ingo.

Many thanks for the tip, this fixed the possibility to see the drop down in the Infoview but still can only see "Enterprise", "LDAP", "Windows AD" as drop down options.

Tried opening Deginer application and at the logon screen I have these drop down options :-

"Enterprise", "LDAP", "Windows AD", "Windows NT", "Standalone (no CMS)", "SAP". Here I tried the SAP option with backend user and it gave error message "You are not authorized to use Designer. (USR0006)". So it seems it works for Designer only albeit authorisation issue.

Then tried Universe Builder option and this is a funny one. Here I get same options as Desginer so when I try with Enterprise and deliberately enter wrong user or password it rejects but with Administrator and correct password it works, so far so good.

Then I try the SAP option and I enter incorrect user and incorrect password and it works. STRANGE.

In summary in Infoview and CMC logon screens, I only see 3 drop down options and in Designer and Universe Builder I see 6 options.

Hi,

can you please try the following:

1: Stop the tomcat server

2: Go to <BOBJ installation directory>\Tomcat55\webapps and remove the following directories:

CmcApp

CmcAppActions

InfoViewApp

InfoViewAppActions

dswsbobje

OpenDocument

PartnerPlatformService

SAP

3: Restart the Tomcat and wait until the directories you remove in Step 2 are recreated.

4. Start the CMC and check if SAP appears in the authentication list.

Thanks

I do not have folder PartnerPlatformService but I do have PlatformServices. I deleted the rest you mentioned and all got re-created within a few seconds of each other accept SAP, which after 20mins in waiting it has still not been created. Having said that tried cmc logon page and it is still the same and no change.

Shall I copy the SAP folder back from the backup ?

Hi,

this is strange. Can you please do the following:

1) Stop the tomcat

2) Start an Ms-DOS box

3) change to <BOBJ installation directory>\deployment

4) Type wdeploy.bat tomcat55 undeployall and press enter

5) Start the Tomcat again

6) Type wdeploy.bat tomcat55 deployall in the MS-DOS box and press enter.

Didn't work, still same problem. I cannot understand why SAP drop down option is availabe in Designer and Universe Builder whilst in Infoview and CMC it does not appear.

I am using sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8

Hi,

did you install the 32bit version of the java connector? Which installation option (client/server/custom) did you select during the installation of the int.Kit for SAP?

sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 is 32 bit, this is what I used as per Ingo's blogs

I chose Custom and then made sure everything was selected.

Hi,

please go to <BOBJ installation directory>\common\4.0\java\lib and start the partnercafinstall.bat. After that just repeat the steps in my previous posting regarding the wdeploy.bat.

Thanks to Stratos & Ingo for some valuable input.

I decided to uninstall and re-install and that seems to have done the trick.

Hi Zapp,

Once you install the integration Kit, the SAp Authetication should come-up by default.

1. Have you installed all the component of integration kit ?

2. have the installed the JCO .

Thanks

Hi Ashwani

Yes I did install the sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 and followed all the right steps (I hope).

Placed the librfc32 and sapjcorfc in the system32 folder and sapjco.jar in the ....\Tomcat55\common\lib

and created the required variables.
