Wild card for all values.

Hi Gurus,

We are using CC (Compliance Calibrator) also known as Risk and Remediation u2013 we are currently on version 5.1 but are migrating to 5.3 very shortly. Within SAP * (star) is classed as a wildcard for all values however when you use * (star) in the CC rulebook it only looks for * (star) and not all values.

Is there any character used in CC to pick up all values?

Thanks,

Hello Mohammed,

If you select object S_TABU_DIS, field ACTVT and then if you provide field value say FROM 01 To 02.Then,

in the permission rules, for ACTVT - 01 to 02 will be considered. But if say you have Field BUKRS and you want

all the field values to be in permission rules. Then in the FROM field you can give $BUKRS as field value . With $BUKRS, all the field

values will be considered.

These objects that you see in the Permission tab for FUNCTIONS are corresponding to the actions that you select in the

actions tab while creating functions.

Hope this clarifies your doubt.

Hello Mohammed,

In RAR too, * is used for all values. Can you please provide all the search options that you are giving ?

HI Harleen,

When we do a search in CC and use * (star) it will use it as a wildcard and look for all values. However when we create a function in the rulebook and use * (star) as an option eg S_TABU_DIS for ACTVT and use * (star) it will look at the roles in SAP and only pick up roles which have a * (star) in it for S_TABU_DIS for ACTVT and not for any value. Therefore our risks are understated.

We are migrating to 5.3 very soon and we need to know whether in 5.3 * (star) in the rulebook will look for any value or just for a * (star) value. If it is not a wild card we will need to amend our rulebook to pick all ranges. I would also be interested in knowing how other organisations get around this?

Thanks and waiting for the reply.
