Hi, scrap of raw material and finish product during production order processing, where to enter that qty? what we enter in co11n scrap qty, is it for roh component qty or finish product (prod order header mat)? do we need to enter seperatly with migo or mb1a with special movent types? can we trace the scrap thru any t-codes? pls advice.

Hi...

If we consider that during the manufacturing process scrap is generated out of raw material or finish product. And if the scrap is saleable product then you need to generate stock in the system during the process. In such cased you need to identify scrap as a material. You can specify the scrap in the BOM with negative quantity that means itu2019s a by-product and will be generated along with the output material during the production order confirmation CO11 / CO11N (in case if goods movement is automatic during confirmation).

During confirmation system will suggest the scrap material based on BOM ratio however you can change the quantity if you wish. Once you save the confirmation with goods movement you can see the stock overview of scrap material which indicates the stock.

But in this case the product costing will be affected as you have multiple outputs against the input so the stock value of the scrap will be deducted from the actual cost of production order.

Generally we use the scrap qty in the confirmation just to identify that the product was manufactured but scrapped due to some reason. System will not generate stock and update the scrap during production account to capture the loss of inventory.

Dear yadav ,

In transaction CO11 or CO11n you can post scrap for order operation wise,

quantity here is for header and in proportion to header the component quantity is posted for withdrawal.

if your components are not relevant for auto backflush then your need to use MIGO other wise they will be copied in CO11, check in goods movement tab of CO11.

for example , if your header material is A and components are B and C with quantity 1 each , B is allocated to operation 0010 and when you will do CO11 for operation 0010 you will enter quantity equal to production order header or less then that , if you enter quantity 10 as yoeld and 2 as scrap so the component B is calculated in proportion to it for withdrawal 10 and quantuty 2 for scrap toptal 12 with movement 261.

Only in COOIS you can see the confirmed scrap quantity.

You will not get it at any storage location.

Please refer this thread,

Check and revert back Hope it helps you,

Ritesh

Hi,

The scrap entered during confirmation is neither RM nor FG, it is in-process scrap.

If you enter scrap in CO11N, you cant see it in the system.

To monitor and check, you have to use the concept of by-product.

You can either maintain it in BOM or can post it directly in MB1A, Mvt Type 531 with reference to production order. It will reflect in production order goods movement.

To track it on the plant level or higher, you can use COOIS report, but confirmations have to be done with the scrap quantity.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Rohit.

Hi

For raw material you need to enter in materila master MRP4 view Component scrap (%) , so it will automatically calculated at the time of MRP run.

Fo finsihed product you need to maitain the Assembly scrap (%)in MRP 1 view, so while converting the planned order to production order this quanttity will calculate automatically.

While confirming the production order you are enetering the final product scrap.

Thanks
