Change Tracker in MDM

Former Member

Hello All,

Can you please let me know, how many values get stored in a change tracker.

For example -- if change tracker is on... for a field Color....

and I change the value of it from.... Blue to Red ... then to Green....

In that case.. will all the 3 value (i.e Blue, Red and Green ) store in the change tracker table at backend????

Or only the last update value... i.e Red and Green will be stored??

Can we see all these values in EP.. through standard iViews... or we need to create custom iViews to view these data???

Request you inputs.

Thanks,

Priya.

Hi Priya,

Yes, you will get the entries of all the values changed and all this information will be available in Web UI. Since Change Tracker stores each and every change (depending on configuration) hence it is recommended to track the selected fields else it will occupy huge space in your database.

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for your reply......

So, i am just confirming the answer again... as......

how many ever times i change (i.e save ever change )..... a value in the field.... the values gets stored in the change tracker... provided the change tracker is on for the selected field.

Thanks,

Priya.

Hi Priya,

Please refer to the link below:

Using MDM WEB UI for tracking changes with Oracle

I have myself worked to view 1 old and the new value in the Database. In your case, you can definitely view the Red and the Green. I am not sure about the value before that.

For configuring the change tracking with Iviews, please refer to the link in the aboev post.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Priya,

Only on saving , the values will get stored in database.

If you save for all three values , then all three will get saved.

The old value and new value both entries will be stored in database and can be retrieved by standard change tracker view.
