How to link an Event Instance to a waiting Workflow

Hi all,

My requirement is to trigger a workflow that has a step that is waiting for an event, easy to do normally, however it is waiting for an event to be created in another process (BOR object) performed manually. It has however a common link via a document number. I cant control

My Questions is: How can i trigger the current workflow instance that is currently waiting for the event with the common link being the a document number

You can make use of the EVENT CREATOR Step of the workflow.

As you are ssaying that you need to trigger the event manually we have 2 ways to trigger a event.

    1. Make use of EVENT CREATOR step and before using this step make sure that you have created a container element with the respective BOR type.

    2. You might have created a Z BOR and in any of that Z BOR methods try to trigger the event by using the standard SAP FM SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT by specifying the BOR name and the event name to the FM parameters. After that if the event gets triggered successfully the return code will be zero , import this value back to the workflow and based on this element value decide , what and how exactly the workflow has to proceed.

    Hi,

In the Workflow Create a step 'Wait for Event ' and give the BO Name & Event.

    Hi

WF A -> Event waiting for WF B to trigger after some condition.

Create Wait for Event step in WF A and a event 'E' in BO of WF A for it.

After the required condtion is successful in WF B add a Activity with logic

in method to trigger this EVENT 'E' using FM 'SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT'
