Search for accounts based on ECC sales order number

Hi Gurus,

In our project we are looking for the below functionality.

Search for Account (Account Identification) based on ECC sales order number. In our case we choose to create sales orders via transaction launcher and not use ERP sales order feature. Doubt is how to search for accounts while the order for the same does not exist in CRM but exists in ECC system.

Understand that with 7.0 functionality SAP has enabled this feature but there is no documentation available on this yet.

Kindly let me know if any one of you have encountered such scenarios and used the functionality.

Any inputs on this will be helpful.

Hi Praveen,

I have used this with the ERP sales order functionality and you could use the same with still creating the orders using the transaction launcher. Just assign an ERP sales order profile to the webclient and it should work. Don't know about the 7.0 functionality but the best way is to just test it out.

Otherwise the search can always be custom developed, extended easily.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your reply. Problem with ERP sales order or assigning ERP profile to web client is that it requires products to be downloaded to CRM. We have a very complex landscape and download of products from multiple systems is not possible.

Understand from some latest release material from SAP 7.0 that search of ECC documents (Sales orders, Invoice nos, devilry documents etc) is possible from web UI screen itself. We have enhanced close to 10 search fields and are very confident on the approach on web UI enhancements. But we need to go for enhancements when the standard functionality does not support.

I am looking for help in this direction.
