Which material type is used for the byproduct material

We can use Standard Material types HALB and FERT to create materials for By-Products

Look at this way.

IF the same material is to be used as HALB or FERT in any other parts of the plant.I would definitely map it as a HALB and FERT material type and proceed with -ve qty in the BOM alone.

However if the No of such materials are more and are not involved in any other Products. we can think of customizing a Material type with the relevant views.

Hi,

for co-products HALB and FERT are required, but for by-products you can use any kind of material type, e.g. ROH.

I guess one should be able to sell the By product also. With Std SAP,ROH we can only purchase but cannot sell.

Hi,

There is no specific material type to define byproduct.

Any material type with negative qty can be used.

It is not fixed you can define any of material as bi product e.g. waste ,SFG
