Portal problems with Microsoft updates KB3197868 and KB3198586

Hi,

We have encountered an issue with last Microsoft monthly security updates. After installing it, BW portal reports can't be run because users can't select any values in the selection screen. Pop-up wich would give selection values doesn't come on. After deleting the new update from the workstation, reports work fine. Is there a workaround to this as security updates need to be installed to client machines?

Hi

Kindly have a check on the following points :

- Check if you are on the latest version of IE 11 or not. SAP always assumes you have installed the latest updates of Internet Explorer

- Browser is supported as per your Portal SP version. Refer Pam link -https://apps.support.sap.com/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/support/pam/pam.html?smpsrv=https%3a%2f%2fwebsmp202.sap-ag.de#ts=0

- How is the issue seen when using with SAP provided desktop.

- Also refer to the KBA # 2339137 - KM Iview rendering issue with Ajax standards Framework page

Assuming you are running the old AJAX Framework Page (i.e. Quirks Mode) you could try launching the BEX iViews in a new window and set the "Launch in New Window" iView property to "Display in Separate Headerless Portal Window (standard mode)".
