Hi,

Can you check your environment variables. Probably the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not set or not set correctly. As a result, the catalog information has not been been to the control file by the Recovery Manager. I don't think this backup will result in a successful restore and recovery using the Recovery Manager since the catalog information is not present.

Thanks,

Subhajit.

Aftab,

You need to rename these files one by one.

If you use BR*Tools, it will take care of stopping & starting of DB.

hi Sushil

i renamed all the datafiles successfully, then i started full online + redo logfile backup by DB13

then it shows the following error below:

Hi Aftab,

The 3rd party backup program that you are using had some sort of problem like:

- bad tape

- network problem

- backint crash

etc...

You must contact ypur backup administrator or somebody who looks after disk,network he`s the only one who can fix this problem. this is not a SAP/Oracle problem. ...

Thanks

Hi Aftab,

Let me explain you in detail. In one line of your error log the below info is present

"BR0279E Return code from 'SHELL=/bin/sh /oracle/DEV/102_64/bin/rman nocatalog': 137"

Shell script is giving return code 137. The meaning of Return code 137 is

Exit code 137: The job was killed because it exceeded the time limit.

This means the job waited for a particular amount of time to write in the disk but unfortunately disk was not avaliable due to some reason, it then killed itself.

So contact were network team or hardware vendor.

Thanks

Hi Mansoor,

Your backup is successful, but after that it is trying to CATALOG something somewhere in the disk, and then it is not able to access the disk.

Yes sure you can go and try it in another server and lets see what happens,

Hi Aftab,

Check SAP Note 17163.

Check Oracle metalink 230449.1

Check below link which tells SYRMGR that SYRMGR is not present in these days in database, it was present in old Oracle release.

You can rename the datafile name by using BR*Tools as below

BRTools>2.space management>5 - Alter data file>Select option 3> Press continue-->select option 6 = Rename data file.

Here new data file name & press continue. DB will be remounted during this step.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Steps:

1. Shutdown the database

2. startup mount

so the control file is available without opening the datafiles.

3. Write a SQL script for all the datafile to be renamed and then execute that at once.

Example: Change_Name.SQL

>alter database rename file '<old file path1>' to '<new file path1>'

>alter database rename file '<old file path2>' to '<new file path2>'

so on...

4. alter database open;

5. Create a backup of new control file by executing command.

alter database backup controlfile to trace;
