Hi MDM Experts,
I am newbie in this forum, hope to get full support from you. I am using SAP MDM 5.5 SP6 with oracle10g database. My target is to create MDM repository using Business Content provided by SAP.
I created repository using 55600_MATERIAL.a2a file, which I found in (51033321\MDM\Business_Content\Material\55600_MATERIAL.a2a provided by SAP) using unarchive repository option. Material Master Repository created with Products table as main table. When I checked main table (Products), I found only two fields:-
1. Name, data type text
2. Category, data type Lookup Taxonomy
Then, I tried to load xsd files (51033321\MDM\Business_Content\Material\XSDs\XSD) to Master repository to create complete repository. I did following:-
1. Select repository in MDM console.
2. Right click and choose Import Repository schema and choose GenericProduct.xsd but it gave me "Invalid Schema file".
My question to you is:-
1. Why I got above error?
2. I guess those xsd file provided by SAP contains structure of Repository tables. How can I import xsd file to the repository?
3. How can I use full functionality of business content provided by SAP?
Thanks,
Bhupesh
Hi Bhupesh,
XSDs available in Business Content are the structures to be used to communicate with ECC e.g. if you want to send data out from MDM to ECC then you can use these xsds in syndicator to get the target structure.
You can import these xsds using the XML Schemas table under the Admin node of your repository. The option you were trying i.e. Import Repository Schema is used to migrate schema changes from one repository to another.

Hi Jitesh,
Thanks for replying.
My understanding was that Business conntent which is provided by SAP can be used to create any standard Business repository like customer, Material master, Product, Business Patner, ..., ..., ....
My target is to create Material Master repository which we will use hold Material Master data to remove duplicate records.
Pleaes help me how can I:-
1. Create fully operational Material Master Repository? When I tried to create repository with the help of *.a2a file (Which I found in Business contnet\Materila folder ) using unarchive repository option, It has created product with with 2 fields only.
2. What I have to consider during Material Master Repository creation?
3. Can we create any business MDM repository using Business conntent which is provided by SAP?
Thanks,
Bhupesh.
Hello Bhupesh,
Can we create any business MDM repository using Business conntent which is provided by SAP?
you can see complete repositories of Customers and BP.
You will get lot of fields and tables.
for material, are you sure that you are trying to unarchive the Business content.
My Guess is that you are giving create command in console. By giving create command to create new repository, then only we get only 2 fields in main table of products. If you unarchive the business content, you will get complete fields and tables.

Hi Bhupesh,
Unarchiving the material business content will give all the relevant fields.
Intially it will give the fields that you have mentioned :
1. Name, data type text
2. Category, data type Lookup Taxonomy
It will take some time after the above mentioned fields are created.Wait for the complete unarchival process.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Minaz
Hi Ankur,
I did copy *.a2a file in the archive directory of SAP MDM Server and then I used Unarchived repository option to create repository.
I created Business Patner Reportiory using MDM Tutorial Sample Data provided by SAP (MDM_Business_Partner_Turorial.a2a) and I did unarchivng from MDM console and it showed me complete repository.
But In case of Material Master, Unarchiving repository did not create will all tables and fields.
How can I create Material Master repository with all tables and fields?
Thanks,
Bhbupesh
Hi Bhupesh,
Thats good that you are able to create complete BP and Customer repository from Business content.
However for Material and Products also I was able to create complete repository from business content by unarchiving. Only when I try to create a repository, I get 2 fields repository. May be tr to download the business content again or try to restart the MDM server. (Basic methods first)
