Planning run issue

Good morning,

I am planning a product in a sim version in APO, if I do a regen planning run it works but if I run the same scenario (and reset the results) with a net change it is not included (not planned) in the planning run.

Am I missing something obvious??

Hi UKuser,

1) It may happen that the product view and background job will have two different

heuristics selected, please check

2) Check the job log and application logs during the time of job run.

3) In background job, if you select entire planning horizon, then it will plan. In

product view, it works based on SNP horizon

4) Before u retry, delete the existing planned orders and retry

If i run the heuristic in the product view (/sapapo/rrp3) APO will generate the required planned orders but if I leave it to the background planning run it does nothing.

I have checked ECC to make sure the materials are in the planning file.

Hi Prasad,

Planning run can be performed both with netchange as well as with

regenerative mode.

Every time, when planning relevant changes are done in system, system

automatically sets up planning file entry for the location product

combination.

If you select net change method, only those items with plannning file

entries will be planned in planning run.

If you select regen mode, the entire sequence will be replanned

irrespective of planning file entries.

Again, the selection of net change or regen mode is purely depends

upon the client/business depending upon the requirement.

1. Check the Planning File entry SNP if the indicator is set (/sapapo/rrp_netch).

2. Are you executing SNP Heuristic at MRP Area Level?

Hi UKuser,

In netchange mode, it will give planning results only if you carry out planning relevant changes

for the specified location product combination. The change should have been carried out

after the previous planning run. If there is no change carried out for the combination after the

previous run and if you execute net change run again, it will not give any results. This is

standard functionality. Only in regen mode, the location product will be entirely planned

again.

I am extremely sorry to interupt the conversation in between, but can you please tell me what exactly is meant by Regen Heu. .

Does planning run taken with Location Heu or Network Heu means Regen heuristic ???

Hi,

I did not get you properly. Please check You have set the indicator to be able to run net change planning within the SNP heuristic. To check this Go to /sapapo/mvm.

The indicator is only taken into account for the active planning version.
