httpplugin.dll does not exist

Hi all,

Is there any prerequisite installation for email config in SAP.

In our case, we don't have the 'run' directory under SID/SYS/exe where httpplugin.dll should be.

Please advise if there is any additional component to install or otherwise!

Regards.

Ok.

So httpplugin is for HTTP, what you need is SMTP.

check if the configuration in SCOT is done for SMTP.

Hi Markus,

Http plugin is required in instance parameter.

Reason why I need and it and wonder why it's not available in the system. Currently our system is running BI7 fully working and integrated with portal and BI's portal tools including broadcaster. To enable BEx broadcaster forward emails to internet email address, I am trying to carry out the email setup... it is here in the BEx broadcaster to internet email setup process that an instance parameter icm/server_port_<*>= PLG \usr\sap\sid\sys\exe\run\httpplugin.dll is required. However, in our case I can see that our system's dir structure is up until \usr\sap\sid\sys\exe and after this the \run is missing along with http plugin dll file.

Any clues?

Regards.

Not for SMTP... (why would the name then be http plugin?)

I just checked on various Windows boxes we have, on none of them that DLL exists and we are able to send mail nicely from those systems.

The instance parameter is needed if you want INCOMING mail, for broadcasting you just need to configure

- default domain

- SMTP protocol (mail relay server and codepage + activation)

all of them configurable in SCOT.
