How to block master data modification during a SNP optimizer run?

Hello all!!

Does anybody knows if there is a manner to not allow master data manual modification during SNP optimization?

Sometimes, when the snp optimizer are running and a resource, for example, is being modified, the optimizer execution stops and gives an error message showing which master data is being modified.

I would like to know if there is a way to block any modification to master data.

Regards

Angela

    Hi Angela,

To achieve this requirement I can think of two possible ways.

    1. Basis can publish message saying "Do not change any master data during perticular time frame" during which Optimizer is going to run.

    Or

    2. You can have hard freeze, develope custome program which will lock/Unlock all Tcodes for master data. then you can schedule background jobs in sequence 1. Lock t codes for master data 2. run optimizer 3. unlock t codes.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Anjela,

You can try the following options.

    1) Configuring CIF in such a way that any master data updation will be done based

on running integration model. In such cases, eventhough, there is change in

master data, it wont update APO unless you run CIF jobs. This is fool-prrof method.

    2) Other option is to control based on authorisations

    Hi Angela,

    three guys, three opinions:

I would use report /SAPAPO/CIFSTOPQUEUES to be run in advance of the SNP OPT to prevent any master data transfer. After the optimizer run you can then reactivate the queues by /SAPAPO/CIFSTARTQUEUES or /SAPAPO/RCIFRESTART.

    regards
