Hi.
We are about to implement Interaction Center in CRM 2007 and I have the following question: is it possible to derive some or all of the contact's address upon entry of the zip code? If so, how?
Thanks,
Simon.

Hi Simon
You can definitely search for a contact based on zip code. You'll need to add the contact zip code field in the "Account identification" view. Note that if there are multiple contact with the same zip code you'll get a result list for selection.
Here's how to add the contact zip code to account identification screen:
1. Tcode: BSP_WD_CMPWB - BSP WD Component Workbench
2. enter component ICCMP_BP_DETAIL and display
3. Expand "Views" and double click on ICCMP_BP_DETAIL/BuPaCommContact
4. Select "Configuration" tab and then "Select Configuration" button
5. Now select the Configuration with following values from the list
Role Key : <DEFAULT>
Component Usage : <DEFAULT>
Object Type: BPIDENT
Object SubType : BPCATEGPERSON
6. Edit icon > "Copy Configuration " button, enter the following values
Role Key : Yoour role config key
Component Usage : <DEFAULT>
Object Type: BPIDENT
Object SubType : BPCATEGPERSON
7. Now you are ready to add field. Select "Show Available fields"
8. Expand "CONTACTRELADDRESS" and slect "Postal Code" field from page 5
9. Add the field to your view using "+" icon
10. Save your configuration and the field will be available in interaction center
Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Rupesh. This will be useful to know, however I don't think that I gave enough information in my initial post.
What we would like is as follows:
When a consumer/customer contacts us, we will make a new 'interaction record' in the Interaction Center. When entering the details, it would be very useful if we could enter a ZIP/Postal code and the full address is populated automatically. I would assume that this would only be possible with some kind of add-on, but wanted to know if anyone had any ideas if it is even possible.
Regards,
Simon.

Hi Simon
By the time you create the interaction record you'll have all the details for the customer.
Here is how it works:
1. Account Identification: Customer contacts you and you identify the account using phone, name etc. You confirm the account and if there is a IBase it will be determined automatically.
When both Customer and IBase are confirmed you'll navigate to Interaction record automatically.
(Note: If you have CTI implemented it will be automatically be identified using the phone number)
2. Interaction record: The identified account is transferred to Interaction record and related partners are determined using partner determination procedure.
The previous post was to search for Contact person of the customer based on Zip code. If you want to search for Customer based on Zip code during "Account Identification", it is available as standard.
I hope this makes it clear.

Hi Simon
Just reading through this note and I take it the process you are really asking the question around is the creation of a new customer record via the Web IC and doing a search for an address based on a post code ... yes .. there is an add on product that integrates with SAP CRM which is called QAS (Quick Address Search) I don't know if it is suitable for US companies having only implemented using it in the UK. With this product the user keys in a post code or a street name , town to bring up a list of validated address details from the QAS product which are then used to help create the customers record on the system
Hope this helps
