Retain BPC Dimension Hierarchy Sort Order

Hi,

Anyone have a solution for retaining the dimension hierarchy sort order?

Our users have maintained a custom sort order for a BPC dimension hierarchy, but it's getting overwritten by the Data Manager Package hierarchy load from BW (update mode, internal format) which is sorting alphabetically.

SAP Note 1626929 provides a solution for an older version (BPC 7.5) which involves maintaining AppSet web parameter DM_KEEP_SRC_SEQ. For BPC 10.1, we tried adding parameter DM_KEEP_SRC_SEQ=Y at global, environment and model levels using SPRO, but it didn't help.

Our version: BW 7.5 SP07 on HANA 2.0, BPC 10.1, EPM 30

I had raised a ticket with SAP, and just got feedback.

According to the SAP BPC product team, this functionality does not exist as a standard solution, and have requested to submit in the idea place.

We have implemented a custom solution by maintaining the sort order in a custom table and using HANA scripting to sort the hierarchy in a particular order. The solution will work only if the members are static, else maintenance goes up. We are also exploring reading the sort order of the BPC hierarchy and applying to the staging BW InfoObject during hierarchy build.

DM_KEEP_SRC_SEQ=Y is only for BPC 7.5

Not sure but in update mode the hierarchy has to be preserved... let me check!
