Related link in ESS application "Bank Information"

Hi portal experts,

I have the following problem in ESS portal application "Bank Information" which is accessible through ESS page "Personal Information" (using EP6, SAP_ESS 100 SP19):

I want to add a related link for application "Bank Information". I added the related link in the portal content administration on page (and on iView) "Personal Information", and can see the related link on page "Personal Information" and it works. But after entering application "Bank Information" (click the link "Bank Information"), the related link disappeares - there is no "Related Links" section on the left, only "Portal Favorites".

Is there a way to get the related link displayed in application "Bank Information" ?

Hi Monika,

Related links are assigned to pages or iViews so you have to assign your related link to each iView/page. You need to find which iView or page displays the "Bank information" content and add a related link to this particular iView or page.

Hi Pierre,

thanks, but there is only the iView for "Personal Information" in content administration under "Content provided by SAP => End User Content => com.sap.pct.ess.employee => com.sap.pct.ess.iViews", but no iView for "Bank Information" (we use the Standard SAP ESS package and made only little modifications like setting fields visible or not). If it is an iView, I have to know where to find it. But I think "Bank Information" is something that runs inside the iView "Personal Information", so I'm not sure whether adding a related link is possible... Can anybody tell me this?

Hi,

You can open the standard Employee role and see if the Bank Information iView exist or you can search the PCD using the Search tab in Portal Content.

Hi Perre,

yes I know, but there is no iVew for "Bank Information" - all these ESS applications are WebDynpro applications (e.g. ess_gbbank) that run inside iViews like "Personal Information" - so I thought to add the related link to the "Personal Information" iView could be enough - but it wasn't - so I added the same related link to the page "Personal Information" - but this didn't help either: the related link section is not visible after selection of "Bank Information" - although it seems that all runs inside the same page / iView "Personal Information"...

Then I guess you will have to modify the standard WD Java application (Personal Information) if you really want to display this link...

many thanks for this advice - I'm not sure if we should do that, because I don't know where to do this in the Web Dynpro...
