HI ,
What is the purpose of Stock removal & stk placement field in WM view in MM.
murugan
Hi,
You can define storage type search in WM:
SPRO > LE > WM > Strategies > Activate Storage Type Search
Here you ca choose (e.g.)
- Storage Type Indicator (V_T305)
- Dertermine search sequence (V_T334T)
Here you can define the search sequence (V_T334T) and one key field in the search sequence is the storage type indicator (V_T334T-LGTKZ). So, based on the storage type indicator you can define several different storage type search sequence.
Which one should be used by SAP* for a ceratain material is defined in the mentioned fields (remoavl: MLGN-LTKZA; placement: MLGN-LTKZE).
*There are other key fields in table T334T, only one factor is LGTKZ...

So, you are using PP/WM interface.
These settings (e.g. production supply area + control cycles) determine the method of your material staging process. In this case you are using storage type 100 e.g. with dynamic bins.
(I'm speaking only about pick parts now!)
But please notiice that through these settings you only define at which phase of the production process you want to pick up the goods and which is the destination bin.
When you process the TR (e.g. from LB10) that is created e.g. at the time you release (and save) the production order, SAP needs a search sequence for stock removal. This stock removal search sequence is defined in the customizing node described in my previous message.
And you can define stock removal search sequence based on this indicator and use it (and define it in the mentioned material master field). Of course, it is not a must at all, you don't need to define such indicator, and you can use a "general" stock removal search sequence for your materials.
So, it is an option only.

Csaba
I doesn't matter you work with dynamic bin or fixed bin because this has no connection with search strategy / sequence. The difference that you transfer the removed goods into a fixed bin or into a bin that number is created dynamically as per the PrdOrd.
So, stock removal is one thing and dynamic bin si aother.
E.g. even if you wouldn't use WM/PP interface (and you would use storage type 914 in this cae), SAP would use the same search sequence based on your settings in tabl T33$T and the indiocator in material master.
Difference might be with crate pats and release order parts that material staging process is a little bit different.

Hi ,
Stock Placement :
You can use the storage type indicator (Stock placement field) to steer
materials towards a certain storage type during putaway. The indicator
is a kind of governor of the destination storage type. You define it in
Customizing for Warehouse Management and assign it to a warehouse
number. You then have to add an entry in the storage type search table to
link the storage type indicator and the storage type. You can then set the
storage type indicator in the master data records of the materials that you
want to put away in the storage type represented by the indicator.
When you create a transfer order, the system checks the material master
records of the material that is to be put away. If it finds a storage type
indicator, it searches in the storage type search table for an entry containing
this indicator and tries to put the material away in the assigned storage
type. If no suitable entry exists, you receive an error message. Generally,
however, you cannot enter a storage type manually.
Stock Removal :
You can use the storage type indicator for stock removal to point the
search for bin stock for removal towards a specific storage type. A storage
type indicator, which you can also use to control putaway, is a kind of
governor of the issuing or destination storage type. You define it in
Customizing for Warehouse Management and assign it to a warehouse
number. You then have to add an entry in the storage type search table to
link the storage type indicator and the storage type. You can then set the
storage type indicator in the master data records of the materials that you
want to remove from the storage type represented by the indicator.
When you create a transfer order, the system checks the material master
records of the material that is to be removed from storage. If it finds a
storage type indicator, it searches in the storage type search table for an
entry containing this indicator and tries to remove the material from the
assigned storage type. If no suitable entry exists, you receive an error
message. Generally, however, you cannot enter a storage type manually.

Hello Murugan ,
They help in picking up the right bin for Stock Placement / Stock Removal.
