NWDI for Web Channel (CRM 7.0)

Hello!

We are trying to set up a prototype CRM 7.0 system to try out some B2B Web Channel scenarios. As part of the exercise, we just installed NWDI too. We followed the Configuration Wizard at the end of NWDI installation which created a track called as "SANDBOX" (we used defaults).

At this point we have a CRM 7.0 system built - ABAP and Java stacks of version 7.0 SP02 and also NWDI system built. Now, our objective is to use NWDI to make some basis Web changes just to understand the effort to make simple Web Channel changes.

When we go to CMS, we see that the SANDBOX track has three SCAs (SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS) under the "Development" tab. We see that SAP_JTECHS shows as "Import Failed" and the other two show as "waiting for import".

We also would like to load (or import) the SAP CRM 7.0 Java Web Channel code so that when we point our SANDBOX track to the CRM Java Development server, and make code changes and deploy, the changes are visible from the B2B Commerce shop.

Questions I have are:

1) Do we download the CRM Java Web Channel code from Service Market Place and import it into our SANDBOX track?

Or Can we connect the NWDI system with CRM Java stack to make NWDI download the code automatically?

2) Any other things we need to do?

Also, the three SCAs are failing to import. I've initiated import again and will send logs once done..

Any guidance is appreciated! We are all new to NWDI so even basic tips are helpful. We really don't know if we are doing it right.

Thanks!

Kiran

Kiran,

You need to download .SCA file from service market place and keep it in CMS inbox of NWDI server so that it automatically comes to checkin tab of the track. From there you can start importing into all runtime systems

Bala,

Thanks for replying. I see the three SCAs inthe Development tab in CMS - sap.com_SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JTECHS. When I tried importing, the import fails after sometime. I looked up the logs and they say...

20090715022800 Info :no changes on the CBS request queue (JNT_SANDBOX_D) after a waiting time of 14430000 ms

20090715022800 Fatal :Please look after the operational status of the CBS.

This was the log file for SAP-JEE.

Does anyone know what could be wrong here?

Thanks,

I did more digging around SDN and found this help document -

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a6/a4214174abef23e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

I went to my CBS and say that when I clicked "Buildspaces" I see two listed in the table - JNT_SANDBOX_C and JNT_SANDBOX_D.

Both of them had 1 queued request, 0 processing, 0 failed, 0 DCs etc. The input is OPEN and request processing is ON.

Do you think anything is wrong with the CBS?

I am thinking the issue I have is with the way the Track is created.

After configuring SLD, Data Supp Bridge, Domain, Naming Service etc., I am in Landscape Configurator of CMS and I created a track. In the Developed Software Components table at the bottom, I added the three mandatory SCs (BUILDT, JEE, JTECHS).

Am I doing this at the correct place? Or should I define these three SCAs somewhere in SLD before creation of the track?

My ultimate goal is to look at the CRM Web Channel Java code through NWDS sourced for NWDI.

Thank you,

Kiran

Kiran,

Try to restart the NWDI server and then check it out

Thanks

Bala,

At the end of the day y'day, we got it working! Some setting that our admin did in Visual Admin for the CBS server potentially fixed the issue. We restarted the machine, so that could be the reason too. Anyway, I am happy that we were able to check in things - the 3 SCAs to start with.

Now, we are working on a different issue. Trying to load the CRM Java SCAs. We downloaded them from Service market place, but where do we put them so that they appear in the list (for us to pick them) in the SLD Components area. As I understand, I should go to SLD and go to Components and pick my component and add the new CRM 7.0 Java SCs to that list as dependencies (or what ever) but the issue is I can't get the 7.0 version appear in the table when I search for them. I probably should place them somewhere to make them come up and I don't know where...

I posted this question here

Thanks Bala! I appreciate your help!
