Hi Ravindra,

Your solution should be found in solving the "rc=-11112".

Check the following thread:

I had the same issue, and deinstalled SMD, afterwards I reinstalled SMD standalone.

No problems ever since

Is your problem solved?

Hi David,

It was wrongly marked, I have corrected the status.

David I got SMD installed as a part of Solution manager 7.0 EHP1,

what i am seeing is the Default profile is not there is the profile Directory,

Do we get only Instance profile after installation?

torssp01:smdadm 18> pwd

/usr/sap/SMD/SYS/profile

torssp01:smdadm 19> ls -ltr

total 16

-rwxrwxr-x 1 smdadm sapsys 846 Jun 14 23:13 START_J98_torssp01

-rwxrwxr-x 1 smdadm sapsys 838 Jun 14 23:13 SMD_J98_torssp01

can you please let me know are these only files created under profile?

Thanks

I have a default.pfl in that dir but here's the content:

  1. --------------------------------------------------------------

  2. File generated automatically by the diagnostics agent sapinst.

  3. Created 2009.05.25 at 14:34:13 CEST

  4. sapinst classes version: 7.0014.20080306115143.0000

  5. Title: DEFAULT.PFL

  6. Description: File is empty because is not use to start the Diagnostics agent.

  7. --------------------------------------------------------------

So, that's not the problem.

You could create it manually if you realy want it

My suggestion remains:

Deinstall SMD using sapinst

Install SMD using sapinst.

Worked for me

Hi,

I have Installed Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 and SMD Installed as a part of it. If I go for uninstall then I will not have the separate software for SMD as it came with the Solution Manager software. In the SAP Market Place SMD patch level SP17 is available but mine is SP18. So not sure will lit be compatible with my solution manager.

Hi,

I have installed Solman SP19 and SMD SP13 before, and it worked fine.

There is no dependency between Solman and SMD agent. Go ahead.

Best regards,

TK

Former Member

yeah, it shouldn't be a problem.

But when you run the sapinst from your SolMan installation software, you should have the option to deinstall and install the SMD as a single component.

Former Member

hi,

as you said there is no dependency, so I have installled SP17 after uninstalling the existing on. I am able to start the SMD now. Looks like the after applying Sap Note I had the Problem. which solved on reinstalling SMD.

Thanks.

Hi David,

After reinstalling the SMD I am able to start the SMD but when I am trying to access SMD using web link http://host(fqn):50000:smd

I am giving the j2ee_admin login/pasword. but after that it it saying j2ee_admin user is not authorised.

looks like some step are mising Ex. smdsetup.sh, webadmin RFC, j2ee_admin user in ABAP side.

Can you please guide me with all the step which I need to do to access SMD from Web Browser.

Thanks

Ravindra

Former Member

for that link you should use user:

SMD_ADMIN

I think the default pass for this user is "init1234".

But for all SMD activities (setting up, rca, etc....) you should use workcenters.

Hi,

I have installed Sol Man SP18,

while successfully logging in the SMD Link http://10.39.4.107:50000/smd it giving me two warning

1) Upgrade status for the current version is outdated. Please upgrade now.

2) Maintenance mode is enabled. Some applications will be disabled or might not work

What are the file I have to apply to get rid of this.

Thanks Ravindra

Former Member

Hi Ravindra,

I think the following should help:

1) On the diagnostics setup, choose upgrader (on the left of the screen), this should upgrade your status.

2) Go to your RCA-workcenter. Under common tasks, choose agent administration - on the top left you see your maintenance mode. Switch it to off.

Let me know if it helps.

Hi,

The operation of Solution Manager was drasitcally changed from SP17 to SP18 or higher.

For example, you can use the new transaction code "SOLMAN_WORKCENTER" instead of "SOLUTION_MANAGER".

This transaction provides almost all services of Solution Manager.

Moreover, you don't have to access Java stack via http://<host>:5##00/smd.

Two setup wizards and many services for SMD is integrated into the transaction code "SOLMAN_SETUP".

You can use this transaction for the initial/basic setup for both ABAP and Java stack and managed systems settings.

I thinks you can do the following.

1) Go to http://10.39.4.107:50000/smd > Diagnostics Setup > Diagnostics System > Upgrader

2) Click the button <Upgrader Now>

If the error message still remains, restart Java stack.

Or check SP levels (especially LMSERVICE).

3) Goto SOLMAN_SETUP and launch all setting wizards.

(you can skip some steps already set)

Best regards,

TK
