Adding button in Options menu of ABAP launchpad

Hi,

I would like to implement a button in Options menu of Launchpad after user preferences.

My Netweaver version is 7.40 SPS18. I tried to follow this link but I am not sure where the code needs to be written.

Also does Shell plugin to add footer work with SAP NW 7.40?
