Hide empty rows for local member

Hi experts,

i have a local member column retrieving some values and other columns in the Report retrieving data. Normally the local member is showing previous month data and the current month report cells are all empty at the beginning. Now when enabling "hide empty" the whole report is empty because it not takes the local member "retrieve data" values into account.

Is this "by design" or is there a way to show at least all rows with values in the local member?

I was able to get all required info using 3 reports :)

First I created relationship matrix: Business Line = ENTITY, Product=Product

Then I created 3 report: first - yellow, second - orange, third - green.

First report was used to get valid combinations of ENTITY and Product dimensions using Account ST01

Second report has shared column axis with first report and current month.

Third report has shared row axis with second report and previous month with totals in column axis.

It's not possible to place third report before second but you can use local member in first report to show figures of third report (corrected! in first report!)

Please provide a simple report screenshot to understand your issue! Also screenshot of your local member definition.

    • Yes i know, but the main reason therefore is, that i need a dynamic column axis over two dimension, which is as far as i now not possible at the moment:

We have Business lines and more detailed products in two separated dimensions. I now need an input schedule that dynamically overrides Business lines that belong to an Entity when opening the sheet (which is possible, with property in Entity masterdata) but additionally now i need correct products for each Business line (which i also have in a property) but it is not possible to dynamically override something like:

      BL01 BL02

      P1000 P1001 P1003 P1004 and so on.

So what i did: I dynamically override Business line and product Dimension with all possible products of available BLs and hide the unnecessary ones with VBA using a local member that detects valid combinations.

The issue now is: i also have to show the previous period in the column axis as a first column (just totals), but as there are entities with many BLs and many products and you have also two periods in column in a first step you get many to much columns and EPM needs to much time first Setting up inital table.

Now my idea is using a local member for previous period saving half of the columns for the previous period multiplication of all BLs and products.

Final Report/ input should look like this, where the green area is alway the previous period just showing totals over all BLs and products from previous month:

Now i have also the Problem that it seems EPM first detects Report and then applies local members. But actually what i need previous month data for is to show all lines that are booked in last month:

Alle Zero and empty rows should be hidden and just displayed if need, using kind of an unhide/hide drop down. But that is not possible with local member solution i am afraid.

    Local member is:

I can use VBA of course to hide and unhide the needed columns but that is alway last way for me.

    Thanks and best
