Date format different as per country UK/USA in InfoView

Hello

We have users in both UK/USA. When they create webi reports through infoview and if their report contains a date field, is it possible for the format to be different based on location? For e.g dd/mm/yyyy in UK and mm/dd/yyyy in USA.

Currently i know that if users set this in their preferences "Under Preferences -> General -> Preferred Viewing Local" this can work. But in our implementation we ideally want to restrict users from setting their preferences as we want to maintain an uniform look and feel to infoview.

So far based on search there seems to be no work-around. Any ideas, ideas most welcome.

We decided to go with the InfoView way.

Hi,

you should have a way to identify which language setting your users have (you can use a table containing the user name and the language setting) in your universe. If you have such a table you can use Variable('BOUSER') in your universe and extract the correct language setting for the user, who is actually running the WebI report. By using the FormatDate function you can display the date in the desired format.
