Error (MG-144) in Material Uplaod - LSMW - RMDATIND - Last Step

Former Member

I am getting Error when running the Input process (Final) step for LSMW for material upload.

Error

E MG 144 The field MARC-DISMM is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry

Whereas Field in maintained and verified in Read Data and Converted Data Display.

System - SAP S/4HANA 1709

Transaction - LSMW

Process - Standard Batch/Direct Input

Object - 0020

Method - 0000

Program Name - RMDATIND

Program Type - D

Another unusual thing, if I use same data with less number records (10 or 20) then working fine, but if more then system shows above error for all records even ok in less record run.

Issue resolved, in SAP HANA there is new Migration Tool introduce in place of LSMW.

T-code - LTMC

Hi,

Try to increase max.no.of logical errors and run the lsmw. Consequently check whether this is creating the material records (and suppresses warning messages). Check your input file whether it is having proper "tab" spaces for blank fields (there is a chance that, when you copy/paste from excel to text file, the merged cells may copy as single field into text file - which may not be visible by just seeing).

Hi Balasubramanian,

thank you for your response,

Try to increase max.no.of logical errors and run the lsmw and Consequently check whether this is creating the material records (and suppresses warning messages)

No impact - same results.

Check your input file whether it is having proper "tab" spaces for blank fields (there is a chance that, when you copy/paste from excel to text file, the merged cells may copy as single field into text file - which may not be visible by just seeing).

Data file is ok, as I checked every single data in Converted data list, everything is ok, if I run with 20 or less the same data results as ok.

Hi,

Another guess & try:

try to make this field in the screen layout as "optional" in the configuration tcode OMSR.

Still the same after OMSR changes. only Message type / number different but error is same

Before - MG-144

Now - M3072

Hi,

1) Have you recorded the lsmw using "tab" keys when leaving and entering around the fields?. Try to avoid mouse-click and use keystrokes only.

2) If it is for MM01, the data may go across the material views. So you need to maintain the input file in correct sequence.

3) If you feel at particular row is creating the error, then try to insert few records from that row on-wards and test it further.

4) You can also entering a test row manually (if you feel a particular record is faulty) instead of using lsmw, and check the correctness of the data and check any error you are getting.

Without seeing your recording/data, it is very difficult to pin-point the exact error.

You can also try with SHDB or BAPI for uploading bulk data into sap.

Bala
