JAVA Mapping on SAP PI 7.1 versus Eclipse

Former Member

Hi everybody,

why does 7.1. need more imported archives as Eclipse needs exyternal jars?

Background: I run a Apache FOP (makes a PDF from a *.fo-file).

In eclipse e.g. I do not need the avalon-framework-4.2.0.zip; SAP PI needs (I get an error when runnting the mapping).

Thanks regards

Mario

as PI does not have apache libraries - that's the only reason

BTW

do you think it's wise to do the PDF creation in a mapping ?

in one of my projects I did XML to XML-FO mapping in the mapping only

and PDF creation in an adapter module - so it was more generic

this way you have more realistic message monitoring too

Hi Michal,

thanks for your reply.

Did you have a blog concerning your adapter module?

hi,

no, as there already is a blog on sdn that shows how to do FOP with an adapter module

I just had to change the reference and code a little bit as the blog concerns an old version of FOP

and I had to use the latest one
