What exactly is the Rate Type

Hi Experts,

Generally we refer the rate type to type of register which is being used in the installation, like on peak rate type and off peak rate type and some rate type can be for flat rate also so I need to know the exact definition of rate type.

I know that rate type is used in the rate determination with rate category.

I also know that rate type can be register permissible, device permissible, facts permissible(rate category and installation).

So without referring any specific division(electricity) if anyone could explain me rate type in generalized way that will be appreciable indeed.

Hi,

In simple terms, Rate type is a type of rate that can be allocated register,device rate category or installation.

Rate type can be expressed as

KWH : Kilo watt per hr consumption for residential,

KW : demand for Commercial or industrial customers.
