DSO for Aggregation purpose

Hi,

I want to create a consolidated DSO based on the two info cubes as a source for this DSO so I can use this DSO for lookup purpose

I want to use the following objects as Characteristics and Key Figures in the DSO

Characteristics: Material, Plant, Fiscal Period, Version ID

Key Figure: Actual Production, Number of Hours

Both cubes have have same characteristics and KF.

I need to know what type of DSO do I need to create that can control the aggregation for key figures coming out of both source cubes

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

    1) Will the combination of Material, Plant, Fiscal Period, Version ID provide a unique key?

If so, use Standard DSO with those keys and update transformation in overwrite mode.

    2) Will there be multiple valid inputs with the same Material, Plant, Fiscal Period, Version ID combination, and you want to sum the records?

If so, use Standard DSO with those keys and update transformation of the key figures in sum mode.

    3) Will you have delta record input or multiple valid records by Material, Plant, Fiscal Period, Version ID?

If so, used Write Optimized DSO with updattransformation rules in overwrite mode.

    Hi,

I suggest standard DSO to be used for lookup for performance reasons. When your source is infocube and target is standard DSO then you should consider the below points.

    1. If you are planning for a delta load from cube to DSO then,

You should not set the keyfigures to overwrite mode as the cube does not give you the before and after images during the delta load to DSO from cubes.

    2. If you are planning for a full load from cube to DSO daily,

You have to identify the correct key combination which gives you the desired keyfigure values with that you can set the keyfigures to overwrite mode.

But I suggest to go with point-1. It is simple and easy to implement.

    Satya.

Handling delta for data flows from cube(s) to standard DSO is a pain (unless you do a cancel&full load). Why don't you do a lookup directly to both cubes ?

Or you can use a cube-like DSO.

Thanks everyone for valuable suggestions, I have finally resolved the issue to re-structure my entire model, I created a standard DSO and dump data into it from multiple source and then from that standard DSO the data loaded to cube with some transformation logic.

    Thanks you all.
