We're in the middle of upgrading from v625 to v652. In v625, there was a way to set the Credit Card Gateway to NONE in the Administration->Setup->Credit Card Gateway section, but in v652 it appears that it forces you to set up an authorization. We don't want to charge the customer ANYTHING until we have reviewed it, and setting up our current gateway (Authorize.Net) to simply Authorize and not Charge doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to skip setting up the gateway as it was done in the previous version?
Try this ... Go to setup / expenses / payment method and edit a card (VISA) and there is a provider dropdown. Normally you select your payment gateway here but you should also be able to select "No Authorization". This will completely bypass the credit card gateway.

Good idea, but this doesn't seem to cut it. If this is indeed the correct way to bypass the authorization, then perhaps I have a different problem.
Here's what's happening during the order process:
1. Register new account
2. Add priced item to cart
3. Proceed through steps, adding fake (but algorithmically valid) Mastercard number
4. Click button on final step to place order
5. Final step page refreshes with red error message on bottom:
Credit Card Not Authorized (Gateway Provider Not in Supported List)
I'm still stuck unfortunately - any other ideas?
Hi Michael,
I think you should in Home > Admin > Expenses > Payment Options > Config Settings > Credit Card Gateway tick test mode.
I would suggest also check what values you have in [OrderPaymentOptions] table in [Provider] field it should be netpoint.paymentprovider.NoAuthorization (case sensitive).
regards
Greg.
