xMII Workbench unable to open on cetrain laptops

Hi,

We are at a customer site usng customer laptops for an xMII project. The Version of xMII Installed in 12.0.7 Build(20)

Now on certain laptops though the xMII portal opens fine , when we click on SAP xMII Workbench URL , the Java download happens and then it askes to enter credentials again (this itself is unusual) then once we enter the credintial we get an error

" You do not have required permission to use the SAP xMII Workbench. The system will close" but when the same users log using different laptops, the Workbech opens fine with out even asken for credential again. Any one else has faced this problem? Note: the problem is for xMII Workbench only, the xMII Admin Portal is working fine.

Below are the details of the client Laptops

1. Make : Lenovo T61 ( though i am sure this wont matter)

2. Operating System, : Windows XP Professional

3. Browser: Internet Explorer 6

4. Java version : 1.5.0_09

Java (TM) 2 runtime Environmet , Standard Edition (Build 1.5.0_09-b03)

Java Hotspot (TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_09-b03, mixed mode, sharing)

5. The user has Local Admin rights on this Laptop

Please let me know why only some of the laptops are having this issue? is there an easy way to resolve this?

HI All,

this issue got resolved.

Apparantly the xMII WOrkbench is not compatible with Java Version 1.5.x.x .

I went to java.com and downloaded the latest version available i.e 1.6.0_14 and not the sap xMII workbench is working percetly fine.
