Hi All,

we are on SAP Marketing Cloud 1808.

Our customer is using 5 different Facebook Pages. Under no circumstances contacts of these facebook pages should be matched as they belong to different marketing areas.

We have no problem when uploading the contacts but when we upload the interactions with the new ID_ORIGIN "FB_MASPBW" the following error message is appearing:

The ID Origin is created in this way:

We use the following ODATA Call to upload the interaction into the system:

We have seen the following description on the web:

For this reason we have named the communication medium as same as the ID_ORIGIN (FB_MASPBW).

We have assigned Communication Media "FB_MASPBW" to Channel "SOCIAL" and Interaction type "SOCIAL_POSTING" is assigned to communicaiton media "FB_MASPBW". Moreover

I can not see any other way to customize this scenario. The question I have is "How can I load the interaction type "SOCIAL_POSTING" with ID Origin "FB_MASPBW" in our system"?

BR/

SAP has assigned these new ID_ORIGIN to channel SOCIAL manually. They told us that from November 2018 a new customizing will be available in the Marketing Cloud so customer can do this by themselves.

Hi,

First of all, you don't need to Maintain communication medium as same as the ID_ORIGIN. There is a customization which can be maintained to map ID_ORIGIN to Comm_Medium. Look for "Assign Contact ID Origin to Communication Media" which will map the comm medium with ID_ORIGIN.

Coming to your query, As per my limited knowledge, it is not possible in the cloud environment to maintain a new social media integration channel since customizing activity "Define Settings for Social Media Integration" is not exposed via UI for partner/customer to maintain. But still can you pls reach out to the support team to confirm about the functionality?

Thanks

Hi Oliver,

if you want to import interactions for a specific social medium, the social medium is first of all the communication medium and needs to be added there.

To be able to import an interaction you then also need an active assignment of the communication medium and interaction type to a channel (e.g. FB_MASPBW + SOCIAL_POSTING -> SOCIAL)

Next question is about how to identify the contacts on the social medium: do they come with some own ID, or are they using e.g. emails as identifiers. Depending on this, you may need to create an corresponding origin.

Please be careful with this question: just because the ID may contain emails it might be good to chose an own origin. Just think about amazon, which used in the beginning email as unique identifier, but in the meanwhile also allows phone numbers. So creating an own origin as suggested might be the right thing to do.

The activity "Assign Contact ID Origin to Communication Media" is relevant for marketing permissions in campaign execution - meaning, which kind of ID is allowed to be used for which communication (e.g. am I allowed to call the contact on his mobile, or am I allowed to send him a text message). This activity is not relevant for importing interactions.
However the activity "Define Marketing Permission Check" is relevant for importing interactions from social media: you may configure, whether you're allowed to store these interactions at all, anonymized etc.

Hope that helps and regards,

Sven
