Dear Friends,

My client wants to maintain their all inventory involved in their production in batches. Hence, I would like to know that, is there any issue found by anyone on this regard for SAP B1 2007B PL7 or higher?

In SBO the production process can use batch-managed items both as product and as components.

But if you want follow which product batch is manufactured from which component batches, you should establish your own procedures.

Thank you István K#rös, there is no such restriction. But can I choose a same batch number for a finished goods?

Batch numbers are unique by item only.

So you can use the component's batch number for the product.

Batches of same name i mentioned as same batch... e.g. item1 in batch A, item2 in batch A means item1 & item2 are in same batch.

Hi

NO. You cannot get two different in one(Same) batch.

Batches are defined in SAP B1 individually

Then is the reply ("Batch numbers are unique by item only") from István K#rös is wrong?

There can be

for Item A batch 1234

for item B batch 1234

but these are different batches!

Only the two batch-number is equal!

Dear Ashish,

Are the following sentences not contradictory?

"You cannot get two different item in one(Same) batch. " and "Batch numbers are unique by item only"

Hi NArrottam,

As per the functionality fo SAP B1.

The Batch No or Serial No. Gerates at the time of either Every Transaction Or at the time Of In and Out..

As per the Subject line For the produciotn what i understood is

When you are using production module. Production Order, Issue to Production, Receipt To production.

You cannot pick two FG/Semi FG in the as Parent item. So you have to Create Prod. Order For One item and for the same item you are going to issue (If Component item is also batch wise then system ask you the Which batch No.) and during receipt of FG/ Seni FG the system ask abouot one item Not TWO.

And Batch No is Unique Means . Whatever bacth no you are giving to the FG/Semi FG is unique to identify

There is no contradiction, because a batch is identified by the Item code and the Batch number together.
