Simulation Version. .

Hi All,

I am very much New to the Model and Version Management field. i just wanted to clarify few of my doubts. .

1) What exactly is meant by a Simulation Version ?

2) Why and How (which T-code) do we create a Simulation Version. .

If we copy a Live Version data to a New Version, then is the New Version called as Simulated Version !

Thanks in Advance,

PP.

Hi

Basically simulation version is the same as Active 000 Version but whenever you transfer the master data from R/3 to APO then automatically it will assign to 000 Active version. Here you can copy these master data to simulation version & run whatever planning functions say optimizer. So with the help of these version you can make the changes in to tha master data like diffrent costs & agian you can run optimizer to see different solution. So you can find feasible solution finally then you can do same changes in to 000 active version data & run optimizer. You will get the final solution & which you can use to for further process.

So you can use simulation version for trial & error method even you can save the data in to info cube for reporting purpose or you can use to cmpaire the result of different trail optimiser run.

You can create these versions by transction /n/sapapo/mvm. But make sure you create the simulation version to under the same active model 000 & create these vesrion by copying active version 000.

Hope this will help you.

Hi PP,

1) What exactly is meant by a Simulation Version ?

In Simulation version, you can copy the relevant (either master data or transactional data or both)

data and after copying, you can carry out some changes in master data in simulation version

and carry out lot of comparison studies.

This will simulate the scenario "how it will be" before executing into the active version. Based

on that we can decide whether to execute the "change" or not like.

2) Why and How (which T-code) do we create a Simulation Version.

/sapapo/mvm

3) If we copy a Live Version data to a New Version, then is the New Version called as Simulated Version

yes

Hi,

simulatation version is as name says for simulataion peupose,

like you have created a material master from simulation version and changes in master data like snp cost and you want to see the effect of changes so you can do it in simulation version.

you can create a simulation version in /sapapo/mvm or you can create with /sapapo/vercop, where it copy from version to version

during copy it checkes that version is available or not , if not , it create a version.

If we copy a Live Version data to a New Version, then is the New Version called as Simulated Version !

yes , and you can copy from a simulation version to another simulation version.
