Hello SAP Gurus,
I am trying to import data in a lookup table wherein one of the field is set as unique field.I am importing data using excel file through import manager. The moment i open the existing map,It throws an error "unable to retrieve unique values for field XXXX" and when i close this error pop-up window, import manager gets closed. "XXXX" is the unique field in lookup table.
Please help resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Vineet
Hi Vineet,
As this error is coming as soon as you open any map, so this is due to some problem in the importing file. Either the file format is not correct or you have opened the file and trying importing or importmanager unable to read the file. In such cases the best option is to copy all these values to a different excel and save as .xls format.
Now try to import it and it should work.
If nothing is working as above, pls check your role access,if you are not allowed to import through import manager then also this may cause an issue.
Regards,
Bis

Hi Vineet,
Whenever you make any field as Unique in MDM Console.MDM will not allwo you to import as source that violates this Constraint.
You need to perform either of the task:
- Make sure your incoming source file has Unique values for every record for the given unique field
- Disable th Unique Filed property in Console so that duplicate value be imported into MDM and then use MDM Matching Merging to eliminate Duplicates.
Also you need to take care that the map you initially created and the File you are using everytime for importing are same in terms of the Sheet and File name and mismatch in the original map and the Source will fail to import.
You can also try copying the entire content into a new sheet with same deatils as the originla map and then try importing.

Hi Vineet
Check the unique fields defined for that lookup table in console. Suppose field A has been defined as Unique in MDM for the lookup table and in the excel file field A values are not unique for all entries.
Change the unique field definition for the table and import, it should work.
best regards
Ravi
