DB time is very high

Hi All,

I am facing a tremendous DB time on my ECC 6 Oracle 10G WIndows server RAM 14GB .

We have recently migrated form 32 bit to 64 bit, I dont know about the old server perfromance but this new server is having a lot of DB time like 24,790,615.3 for average response time 2,208.4 with 13,876 dialog steps.

We are using portal applications a lot on this server and facing same big figures for HTTP too.

DIALOG 13,876 2,208.4 558.0 38.1 24,790,615.3 0.0 3.6 68,584.2 221.6 163,276.0 3,413.1 3.5 46.1 369,531.1 26,095 1,732,607 0 0 0 0.0 0.0

HTTP 115,773 2,360.2 985.0 35.2 14,621,744.3 0.0 1.8 2,992.3 27.8 287,490.0 484.4 1.8 0.0 0.0 0 71,796,419 0 0 0 0.0 0.0

I can not access ST04 for now there is a short dump coming stating that there is a error in SYS.V$session. dont know Why.

I have implemented the Oracle parameters exactly as per note 830576, we have SGA size of 4 GB db_cache of 2G.

I am at Kernel level 159. copied db libraries for this updated kernel too.

Can anybody guide me something about this.

Any inputs are appreciated.

Shailesh

hi,

Use st04 for more detail if not working then give dump description.

You can increase more SGA size if you have 14GB Mem.

Increase Cache size calculate with help of v$db_cache_advice view.
