BOM Explosion

Hi Friends,

I have a parent material which has two child components A and B.

I have two subcontractor vendor (X and Y),who provide the same parent material.

But the main thing is that,

Vendor 'X' consumes 20nos of component A and 20nos of component B to produce 10nos of parent material.

while Vendor 'y' consumes 22nos of component A and 22nos of component B to produce 10nos of parent material.

i have maintained the BOM for that parent material by using alternative BOM.(1 and 2)

My requirement is:

While making PO for that particular vendor, that particular BOM should explode there.

ie for vendor 'x' - BOM1 should explode and

for vendor 'y' - BOM2 should explode in the PO.

    Hi,

You can solve this via production version.

    1. Assign the alternative BOM to a production version (C223)

    2. Assign the production version to the subcon info record (ME11 / ME12)

(Please search the forum before asking, this issue has been discussed several times)

Your issue can be resolved by means of production versions.

Create a Production Version (TCODE:C223) for each alternate BOM , and then in the subcontracting Inforecord , you need to assign the desired Version . So while creating the Subcontracting order , system will pick up the BOM as per the version.

    Hi,

Even you can create Production Version in Material Master MRP4 Screen. Here you need to mention your Alternative BOm 1 and 2 for your 2 production Versions. And then in Inforecord , you need to mention your PVs .

Then run MRP and findout.Your problem may get solved.

    Cheers,
