    Hi,

You really have to customizing the Masthead code. To do this following these steps:

1 - Open the portal prespective in NWDS.

    2 - Import the par file by file>import>par - com.sap.portal.navigation.masterhead.par

3 - Open the PORTAL-INF/Dist folder. You can see the JSP folder and inside this you can make changes.

For each component you create component name, config and profile will be there in the portalapp.xml. You can do this easily from Components tab in portalapp.xml. Add the securityZone and change it to high_safety if you are not able to create the iview after uploading. In the component profile you can set the properties for the iviews.

Use this link for editing portalapp.xml and follow the steps described

    Portalapps.xml

Make sure that the jar files are added(masterheadcore &masterheadapi.jar)before deploying to server.

As said above by jitender, import the masthead par file in NWDS.

    Then open the Headerview.jsp file

In that you can add the icon by modifying the html code in that jsp file. My suggestion is don't do any changes to the Standard one.

Instead of that you rename the masthead par file and deploy with differnt name. Use that masthead iview in your frmaework page.
